Identity

The journey of Mordechai (More-dee-kai) began in 2005 and was inspired by ‘Nuclear-Disarmament Activist’ Mordechai Vanunu.

The music of Mordechai has evolved from it’s early electronic-soundscapes and acoustic-folk into a modern development of alternative-rock.

Lyrically, the themes from Vanunu’s story are evident, but portrayed in a very personal and relatable way. Musical influence is drawn from artists such as System of a Down, Three Days Grace, Jose Gonzalez and John Debney.

With three EPs to his name (Speak For Me – 05, Mordechai – 07, Abduction – 08/09), as well as a history of interstate and local performances (including MTV’s The Lair) Mordechai is an artist set on creating inspirational music that reaches people in a unique and original way.
